Hammocks are ideal for spending a lazy day at home. These luxurious beds are comfortable and affordable for almost anyone. The best thing about hammocks is that you don't need much space to use one. If you have enough space to put up two sturdy posts in your backyard, you can hang a hammock right there and use it for a nap, or to unwind after a hard day's work.
Comfort. After only a few years of normal use, the twisted cotton cord used to make rope hammocks and hammock chairs, hardens and looses flexibility. Once wet, cotton fabric hammocks can take more than a day to dry.
The main differences found in cord types are that cotton is softer and nylon is more durable. A nylon hammock will have a firmer feel, but will weather the elements better if left exposed outside to the elements. Cotton hammocks will stretch more and are usually considered the more comfortable option, but they require more care and protection from the elements to ensure longevity.
Durability. This is cotton's Achilles Heel. Cotton hammocks and hammock chairs tend to attract mold and rot when wet, making cotton a particularly unreliable material for these products.
