Dining indoors is good, but what is better is al fresco dining. Outdoor dining could only be done so seasonally unless you live in the south, but this rare occasion allows one to both bask in the relaxing garden environment while relishing the company of your family and friends. Having the perfect patio dining set would greatly contribute to that occasional family lunch or dinner.
Tired of staying indoors? It could be lovely to hang out or dine with your family or friends outdoors. No, it doesn't mean you have to drive to a restaurant or a café. You can enjoy outdoor dining without leaving your home. Your patio can serve that purpose very well. This space outside your home is perfect for breakfasts, family meals, and romantic dinners as you get to enjoy the view of your garden and breathe fresh outside air.
Wicker patio furniture has certainly gained in popularity over the last few years. This is partially because of the use of synthetic wicker which is more resistant to the elements and stronger, but it is also because of the increased range of products. Patio furniture sets can include anything from lounge chairs to dining tables and chairs or, in the case of wicker furniture that is designed for use in the conservatory, it can even offer a collection of sofas, chairs, and tables.
Recently, the furniture world has embraced the form of the elegant high dining table, which has in turn influenced many a patio dining set. Also known as gathering height and balcony tables, these are raised about half a foot higher than typical tables, or on average 36" high. Chair seats typically measure in at 26 inches, which means more leg room than normal height tables. This unique realm is in between dining table and bar height, so it's not uncomfortably high, but noticeably so. The chairs of a high dining set are specifically designed for convenience, and are supposedly easier to get into and out of than are barstools. There are even some chairs which swivel to accommodate. The resulting feeling can either be more formal than a normal table, or more akin to bar-side dining, depending on the surrounding ambience of the décor and the occasion itself. The high patio dining set also gives a more modern look, but is useful in certain spots where a good view is to be enjoyed, as over a tall fence or wall. It would not however be ideal in areas that are already adequately elevated, like roof decks and could give users the adverse effect of feeling too high up. For indoors, balcony tables look great in cathedral ceiling and loft spaces.
