The entire range of hammocks can be spilt into two categories regarding stands - those with, and those without spreader bars. The reason for this is that hammocks which don't have spreader bars must be hung much higher than those with spreader bars. Spreader bars are pieces of wood or metal attached horizontally at each end of the hammock bed to spread the fabric out.
As the seasons begin to change and the weather to warm up, it is time to head outdoors. With the cold months behind us, the windows in our homes can be opened once again and we can play once again in our backyards. Right now, any and all warm weather products are waiting to be purchased at department stores and mass retailers wherever you live. When the sun begins to shine a lot brighter and a little bit longer, playing outdoors and talking a nap on your backyard hammock is the place to be.
The main differences found in cord types are that cotton is softer and nylon is more durable. A nylon hammock will have a firmer feel, but will weather the elements better if left exposed outside to the elements. Cotton hammocks will stretch more and are usually considered the more comfortable option, but they require more care and protection from the elements to ensure longevity.
Hammocks are generally available in two main types of cord. Nylon and cotton, and often they are a combination of both. A nylon hammock is usually just that, 100% cotton. Whereas a cotton hammock will often be made so the body, the part you lie in is cotton and the arms/ends of the hammock where the weight is taken is made from nylon. This is done so to create a stronger more durable hammock while still giving you the added benefit of extra comfort from the cotton cord.
